We hope that your checkups to our office are soothing and exciting, for you and for your children. We know that some children have an irrational fear of the dentist’s office, and we do all that we can to make their appointments peaceful, starting when they are very young. Here are some bits of information about what you can expect when you bring your newborn to our office for a visit for the first time.

Since your child should come with you to visit our office for the first time between six months and one year of age, they will need to rest on your lap as you sit in the dental chair. The dentist will examine your child’s teeth and jaws to make sure that they are growing appropriately. They will next observe the child’s mouth for any cavities, injuries or developmental issues. If everything looks okay, the dentist will clean your baby’s chompers and give you some advice on keeping up your child’s dental health so they can grow into healthy teeth that will last them a lifetime with proper care.
